Meet Lexis Perth student – Vladimír Kříž from Czech Republic :D

Vladimir comes from the Czech Republic and has been living, studying and working in Perth for just over 14 months. Vladimír finished his studies with us, 😦 he started at elementary level and ended at  advanced level 🙂 what a great achievement! well done  Vladimír 🙂

This is his story….

21.9.2015 was the day. The day when I started at Lexis English school in Perth. I vividly remember my first day. I was so nervous, scared… It was the first time in my life that I had left my country, even my home for such a long time. I didn’t know how it would be to live by myself, I didn’t khow how to cook, even how to use a washing-machine and what’s more, I couldn’t speak English at all. During the first day I met Liza, Nadaria and Paul, everyone was so pleasant, patient and friendly and I knew that I’d be happy and everything would be ok. I couldn’t imagine being a pupil again for one year after 8 years working in my country without studying. It was the biggest challenge I have ever had.

My life here hasn’t been easy even though my job as a cleaner isn’t hard, working and studying together simply is not always a walk in the park. But without the job it was impossible for me 🙂 To be honest I blew a bundle for this education, but I’m sure I couldn’t have spent the money a better way. Actually it has been the best investment in my life 🙂

Now, after more than one year at school, here is my last week and I’m having a graduation on this Friday (4.11.2016). I can’t believe it. I’m so excited about going home, but I’m also sad that I will have to say goodbye to so many amazing people. During one year I’ve met a lot of people who I’ve spent an incredible time with. Many of them have become good friends and they have given me a reason to travel around the world and I hope I see them again :). It is marvellous how many things could happen during this short time. Thanks for the funniest days with you, all my classmates 🙂 I also always feel support from all of the teachers at school. They are beautiful, friendly, funny… 🙂 They have helped me so much and they are people by whom I have been taught everything that I know. I’m so thankful for being a part of this group. It’s not just a group, it’s like a second family, and I’m really delighted that I’d decided on Lexis in Perth.

My target had been the upper intermediate when I started in the Elementary. However, I’m graduating in the Advanced class which is unbelievable for me and I’m so happy for it. I still have a long way of studying ahead of me, but I’m and I always will be grateful for the amazing teachers who have taught me and helped me to open the door of the world. You guys are likely to read this as well and I have to say I’ll never forget you and I look up to you! Everyone has to see on you that you love your job. Your energy and passion, how you deal with us is wonderful because I know that it isn’t always easy with us 🙂 especially on Mondays and Fridays :))

That’s it 🙂 It’s time to move on… 🙂
Let me finish with one phrase from Charlie Chaplin : “A day without laughter is a day wasted” 🙂 So never forget to smile because also Zig Ziglar said : “Be helpful. When you see a person without a smile, give them yours.” 🙂

I’m not saying goodbye, I want to say I’ll see you 🙂
