What a beautiful day and what an excellent way to finish off the academic year.  Beef, chicken and lamb.  Beautiful salads and cakes.  Refreshments for everyone and even a friendly game of football.  I don’t think I saw anyone not having fun today.  Merry Christmas from Lexis English Perth, and a happy new year.

DSC02412 DSC02414Here is one of our Students Ronei all the way from Brazil, he has been with us since January 16th 2012 beginning in Elementary and graduating today in Upper Intermediate, also studying in IELTS Preparation class and is sadly leaving us today. Below is Ronei’s speech he prepared for graduation. Good Luck Ronei, we wish you well for the future and we will miss you.

“I would just like to say something very briefly to you guys.  I remember the day like it was yesterday when I first started school in my country.  I was just 6 years old and until then I only spoke German.  For those who don’t know in Brazil we speak Portuguese but I didn’t.

My first day at school in Brazil was terrible because I couldn’t understand or say anything.  I couldn’t understand why my parents didn’t teach me Portuguese but as a child you learn things very quickly and my life changed after a few months when I started to speak Portuguese.

You may be asking yourself right now why I am telling you all of this.  Just to say that my first day here at Lexis English in Perth was like my first day at school in Brazil.  I couldn’t understand or say anything.  But now after a few months, my English has improved and I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all my teachers and also the staff that helped me a lot.” Ronei Arnold.
